Gift giving this Christmas. Yep that was the unoriginal theme I explored! This was my offering this year in our school festival.

The theme of Christmas gift-giving for me corners on the Luke 2 v 11 scripture:- “Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.”
In the announcement of the angels telling the shepherds there are at least three things about the baby Jesus.
1. It’s just what we were hoping for.
2. It’s more than we were expecting.
3. It’s just what we need.

God is King, Lord and Saviour.
This along with some distracting gifts is the invitation and challenge of this Advent time. Sure it can be chaos, but the incarnation is the most profound and clear reminder that Jesus is God’s unspeakable gift.

Jesus is truly everything we were hoping for, more than we were expecting and just what we need!
