Changes ahead…

It’s a bittersweet day, as this morning, it was announced that I’ve been offered and accepted the invitation to serve as the new Vicar of St Peter’s Hextable and St Paul’s Swanley Village in Rochester Diocese.

This will mean leaving the wonderful people of Emmanuel Church, Northwood, and the wider community here, in order to lead and serve in mission and discipleship there.

Just as God so graciously guided me to Emmanuel in 2014, I trust His hand in this next step. It is a bittersweet announcement: departing from Emmanuel and the surrounding community will be painful, yet the season and circumstances make it the right move for the good of all as we go forward.

The unanimous invitation from the parish representatives, patron, and diocesan Bishop to serve this single church family across its two locations represents an exciting and significant opportunity.

In recent weeks, I have known God’s clear leading and provision in the details. There is still much to arrange regarding the timescale for finishing well here at Emmanuel, with the licensing planned for early January in the Rochester Diocese, where I look forward to joining in all that God is already doing there.

Here’s to more of God’s kingdom life in all our lives—because we all get to play our part!

Partnering with the Holy Spirit, following Jesus as closely as possible, and embracing daily adventures! I am humbled, excited, and trusting for all that lies ahead.
